What are fibroids?
Uterine Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that are in or around a woman's uterus. To determine the best solution to remove them, I would suggest that woman gets an ultrasound first to see the size, number, and location of the fibroid(s). Then depending on the size and location, their GP or OB/GYN can give them the best possible solution for getting rid of them. If they are big and in the way of other organs or if they are causing the woman many problems and complications, a doctor may suggest a surgery such as a myomectomy or hysterectomy. But if they are small, and they are not causing pain, heavy bleeding, or other symptoms, then their doctor could try shrinking them thru embolization or other invasive methods.
