I have a enlarged uterus but no fibroids what will the doctor do next? Depends on you. If there is no pain or symptomatic issue, and s/he doesn't suspect any malignancy, then likely nothing further will be done. If you are in pain and/or suffering from other symptoms, i.e., heavy or dysfunctional uterine bleeding, you have a right to demand a diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Adenomyosis is another major cause of an enlarged uterus next to fibroids, so that's something to consider looking into. It's up to you and your doc what the next diagnostic step - and any treatment - will be. Good luck. Why don't you ask the doctor? I don't think any of us can read his/her mind. They usually don't do anything. My is enlarged and at some point,I had fibroids. The only time they remove the fibroids is if they are causing you a lot of pain or extra bleeding. I'm sorry, but none of us can possibly give you an educated answer to this. Each individual is different, with many factors which influence the treatment the doctor may choose. Only he knows what is right for you. And remember, if you have any qualms over what he suggests, feel free to get a second opinion. Good luck to you! Well my mom had an enlarged uterus, but she did have fibroids and she also is 50 years old. The Dr. had told her for 3 years to have a Hist. She finally had one last summer and its good that she did b/c they found the most aggressive form of uderian cancer there is. It was in its first stages and hadn't spread from her muscle yet. The Dr. said she was a lucky woman. Honestly, if you aren't really young, don't want to have anymore kids and wanna lose about 5 pounds I'd have it taken out. |
