Fibroid tumor on ovary?

I was wondering if anyone out there can give me some info and relate to what is happening. Basically, here is what is going on:
Continuous period
Cramping
Constipation
Back aches
Pain in ovary area when standing or sitting and esp, when laying on stomach
Period gets worse after exercise

I went to the doc and she thinks it is probably a fibroid tumor on my ovary or around there. My mom had a hysterectomy due to this and my sis has these now (can't afford a hysterectomy). What can I expect? What can I do to help with the pain? I have an appointment for a sonogram on the 5th of June and then a follow up appointment the week after with the doc. I am just wondering about what to do. BTW: I am 28 with three kids and have a history of hormone problems. Thanks ya'll.
