For doctors or nurses !!! fibroid tumors ???

i have a fibroid tumor in my uterus and my uterus is the size of a 12 wk preg. woman which the tumor is fairly large , since going to the doc i have had more pain and cramps in my lower abd. and in my back and down my legs . sometimes in the morning i feel nausiated and i feel like i have this big ball in my stomach , i havent gotten my pap smear results back yet . i do have a yellowesh milky discharge though and the doc said theres no sign of an infection , i was just wondering could there be something more wrong with me then a fibroid tumor ?

Hi I am a nurse and here is my answer...........................
1st how long has it been since your pap smear? and second if u have a discharge of any kind that is not a good sign. You might need to have a second opinion done. sounds like if u have a fibroid tumor u might want to check into having an ultrasound done too.
back pain abd. pain and nausea is a serious concern if u have any kind of tumor please seek additional medical help..
Fibroids are very common noncancerous tumors in females during fertile age. The symptoms you are experiencing are due to their large size. They can be removed surgically without any complications.
I have a fibroid tumor in my uterus too. Mine is 4 cm(I had an ultrasound done to determine this). With your size and aches and pains you are having,I would have it removed. Plus your doctor sounds a bit of a quack. I would go get a second opinion. Find a good OB/GYN.
All what you mentioned is accepted as symptoms of fibroid tumor
This tumor can be removed easily.
You will have to go through a operation . I have few aquantances those have gone through the same procedure.
They have even written their experiences at

I had a lot of fibroids that were discovered when I was pregnant. I had surgery several years after my son was born to have as many fibroids as possible removed but those the surgeon couldn't remove ended up growing larger so 4 years ago I had a hysterectomy. As it's obvious you don't plan to have any more children, this could be a good option for you. Or, if you don't want to go through major surgery there are other options. Condeleeza Rice had a proceedure that was done on an outpatient basis that uses something that cuts off the blood flow to the tumors. There are all kinds of options other than surgery. Also they are very susceptable to estrogen (encourages their growth) so if you are close to menopause, and you can hang in there, you might be able to do nothing.
