I,m only 28! I recently got operated for a large fibroid. They sent it to a university for a pathology report? |
The report was not so clear, but it states that it may act like a lower stage leiomyosarcoma, thats a cancer located in the uterus. The thing is I was getting ready to have more kids and now the doctor tells me the only smart thing to do its to get reoperated and to get a total hysterectomy!!!...NOOOOOOOO..a... man my dreams cant be over..i am going for a second opinion because the results arent so clear. It even says it on paper taht is not clear...has anybody else have this or went through tghe same thing im going now and ended up that they didnt have it ..is a very rare case, like why me you know..tell me if theres anything else i can do ..thans guys~** :( Yes, i would say that it is rare. Rare disease and at a rare onset, your age. I would obtain a second opinion no matter of the first, especially when considering cancer or other major diseases. I might even get a third opinion. sorry i cant comment on the specific disease. Yes, by all means get a second opinion. Take copies of all your paperwork with you. And in the meantime, go ahead and get pregnant. If it turns out to be uterine cancer after all, tell them they can have your uterus when you're done with it! alredy here is ur only hope call them anytime they can help http://www.lef.org/lefcms/aspx/freemagof... free lef issue http://www.lef.org/featured-articles/tra... track record By all means, get a second opinion right away. Check with your regular physician for a referral to an oncologist who specializes in this sort of thing and try to find a female oncologist. Male doctors don't always understand this sort of thing. I waited, didnt have the surgery, kept putting it off. Only way they could be sure of the cancer was to do the hysterectomy and send off tissues to be tested. Yes mine was cancer, I had to have 8 rounds of chemo, 32 radiation treatments and one internal radiation. Took me a year and a half just to get through the treatments. Dont put it off, if you want a second opinion get one, but dont waste any time. I put mine off and basically lost almost 2 yrs of my life. But at least I have a life now, I think about how I almost didnt have the surger and how easy it would have been for me not to be here now. I have been cancer free for 2 yrs. now. sweet heart, i dont beleive the doctors most of the times & trust me, their reports vary from each other (personal experiences). so u better get a second opinion. + dont feel so low, if the report is right, then still theres a chance (90% can be done by human will power)... cheers sweety :) |
