Is celiac disease and thyroid problems part of Fibromyalgia's package? I have both of these problems with it. They're all autoimmune diseases, and having one of them makes you more prone to having another of them. Its probably more likely that the thyroid and fibro are secondary tot he celiac. All three are autoimmune diseases and untreated celiac often leads to secondary autoimmune diseases. Chances are good that if the Celiac is 'treated' by following the gluten free diet for life, the other problems will not go away per say but the symptoms may lessen. I have fibro and lifelong hypothyroidism with irritable bowel syndrome. I am 59 years old and female |
