Provigil for Fibromyalgia?

Do or did you take it and how did you find it ? What mg were you on and any other meds you take for it? I am on subutex, Effexor XR, Alpralozam 1mg at night and provigil 200mg during day.

Taking drugs for fibromyalgia is like putting a band aid on a leaky hose. It won't fix it. The only relief you're likely to get from fibro is by finding a way to get a good night's sleep (without prescriptions). What works best for me is a list of OTC supplements along with healthy diet and daily exercise. When I manage to get a good night's sleep, the symptoms the next day are practically non existent. If I don't adhere to this protocol, the sleep goes out the window, and the symptoms return with a vengeance. It's hard work, but the progress I've made is well worth it. Keeping the stress down is vital too. That's why much of my exercise is just walking. I'm diabetic too, so it serves two purposes... lowers stress, lowers blood sugar. See the fibro link under my profile for more ideas.

Okay, who told you provigil was for fibromyalgia? Basically, provigil is a speed - normally prescribed for narcolepsy, but also used in those having problems staying awake. Lyrica has proven itself to be a good drug for Fibromyalgia. My advice to you - only take any meds if prescribed by a doc. ESPECIALLY provigil.

Fibromyalgia is a common nonarticular disorder of unknown cause characterized by achy pain, tenderness, and stiffness of muscles, areas of tendon insertions, and adjacent soft tissues. Diagnosis is clinical. Treatment includes exercise, local heat, and drugs for pain and sleep.
Buprenorphine (Subutex) and buprenorphine and naloxone (Suboxone) are used to treat opioid dependence (addiction to opioid drugs, including heroin and narcotic painkillers). Buprenorphine is in a class of medications called opioid partial agonist-antagonists, and naloxone is in a class of medications called opioid antagonists. Buprenorphine alone and the combination of buprenorphine and naloxone prevent withdrawal symptoms when someone stops taking opioid drugs by producing similar effects to these drugs.
Modafinil is used to treat excessive sleepiness caused by narcolepsy (a condition that causes excessive daytime sleepiness) or shift work sleep disorder (sleepiness during scheduled waking hours and difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep during scheduled sleeping hours in people who work at night or on rotating shifts). Modafinil is also used along with breathing devices or other treatments to prevent excessive sleepiness caused by obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS; a sleep disorder in which the patient briefly stops breathing or breathes shallowly many times during sleep and therefore doesn't get enough restful sleep). Modafinil is in a class of medications called wakefulness promoting agents. It works by changing the amounts of certain natural substances in the area of the brain that controls sleep and wakefulness.
Venlafaxine is used to treat depression. Venlafaxine extended-release (long-acting) capsules are also used to treat generalized anxiety disorder (excessive worrying that is difficult to control), social anxiety disorder (extreme fear of interacting with others or performing in front of others that interferes with normal life), and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks). Venlafaxine is in a class of medications called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). It works by increasing the amounts of serotonin and norepinephrine, natural substances in the brain that help maintain mental balance.
Do you mean "Alprazolam"?
Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety disorders and panic attacks. Alprazolam is in a class of medications called benzodiazepines. It works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain.
