This illness causes overwhelming fatigue and other less dramatic symptoms like you ache all over like you have a flu that never really goes away. It is treated with anti-depressants to increase the brains serotonin ( the "happy "hormone

I was diagnosed after finding out I was also hypothyroid, and had migraines. I think a viral infection brought mine to the forefront. I was extremely fatigued and never seemed to get completely over it. A doctor did diagnose me after finding the 12 tender points. Plenty of sleep, exercise, and eating right have been the best answers for me. You can have flares and also go into remission. There is a new drug called Lyrica out that may help. I haven't tried it but at least there is an option now.

I do/did. Mine was so severe I would lay in bed for days trying not to move. I hurt everywhere except my hair, any movement made it worse, I hurt too much to eat, I suffered through work in veritable agony. I got on some meds that work and I'm doing ok now. There is hope for this. I have a friend that had long standing chronic fatigue from what he called Epstein -Barr Virus and I started him out on one of my meds and he was a convert and is doing fine. I should add that my RLS has totally disappeared as have my recurring cold sores. Cost? Maybe 5 cents a day. Likely side effects? Rare and nothing serious. Look up low dose naltrexone. This is not majick, it is real science applied cleverly and makes perfect scientific sense once you understand the basis for the disease (abnormally low endorphin levels) and the medication. SSRI's like Zoloft are an incomplete anwer because they only indirectly affect the underlying problem. Standard medical knowledge currently only offers either new or older narcotics of one form or another. I offer cutting edge real neuro-axis research information for FREE. Email me if you have any questions. It sure beats contemplating suicide or addiction...
