Can Diet Coke cause fibromyalgia-caused backaches to get worse?

My Mother has fibromyalgia very severely and she has lots of backaches caused by it. She drinks way too many diet cokes, and the more she drinks the more backaches she gets. Could diet cokes be causing her fibromyalgia-caused backaches to flare up? I need to know because her aches keep getting worse. Can you all help me?

Aspartame is a highly contraversial ingredient in Diet Coke that is reknown for health adversities. I would rule it down to this ingredient that is causing your Mother problematic backaches. Tell her to stop drinking it at once!

fibromyalgia is caused (although some pros say the cause is unknown) by a build-up of phosphates in your body which results in lumps , bumps and pains in your body. It is recommended by a doctor i know personally who treats fibromyalgia that a person with fibro should constantly change their brands of drinks, their toothpastes, their shampoos, constantly using the same products over a long period of time can actually make fibro worse. There is a new method of treating fibro which uses Guiafensen to break down these build-ups of phosphates and excrete the eliminated build-ups via the kidneys. in my opinion and seeing the results from the doctors office, Fibro can be reduced by drinking a variety of stuff , so as not to get the body taking in one type of substance

Yeah I have heard that diet drinks, can contain formaldehyde because of the chemical composition of the artificial sweetner. If it is heated in any way (even if it sits in the can before being delivered) it turns into formaldehyde, even in the body. So yeah I really think that it will make it worse. Have her try and cut all artificial sweetner and see if the symptoms reverse. Many times they do!
