Fibromyalgia sufferers, sorry if spellings wrong!?

What are the symptons?
How do you cope?

Hi, I believe that the symptoms include muscle pain in the neck shoulders hip and back, fatigue, mental haziness, headaches, nervousness, numbness and dizziness. Oviously the severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. From articles that I have read in the past, treatment is low impact exercise, Pilates, heat applied to sore muscles and massage. If the pain becomes to bad try over the counter pain killers. As far as I am aware there is no cure for Fibromyalgia but good pain control and following your doctors advice will help ease the symptoms. I hope this helps x

The list of symptoms can vary--not all of us have all of them--and some of us have all and other fun things. However, at minimum:

pain and stiffness--will really react when a "trigger point" is touched

fatigue--frequently associated with sleep disorders (I have at the very least sleep apnea--been a few years since I've had a sleep study so could be something more going on)

IBS is very common--yes bowels in an uproar--we can have constipation, diarrhea, pain, bloating, etc.

overly sensitive--light, sound, temp, all kinds of things we feel more intensely and not in a good way

headaches--particularly migraines, as well as TMJ often are part of the deal.

Can have numbness and tingling in extremities; mood changes; chest pain; dysmenorrhea; dry eyes and mouth; depression; dizziness; anxiety; and memory problems--that is including concentration and forgetfulness AKA "fibro fog."

Coping? Not much choice--it's this or death. Try to alleviate symptoms as much as possible and keep busy, as much as possible. Some people also participate in support groups. Personally I find prayer to be very helpful (and not about me. Plenty of terrible concerns in the world and loved ones who need help). I have a dog--what a blessing he is! I still try to do as much as I can though I'm greatly limited because I've got the full boat of symptoms as well as some other illnesses to boot.

I think it's important to see basics of healthcare are dealt with, then try NOT to give in to the pain, fatigue, etc. and concentrate on being productive.

Fibromyalgia can be very painul and there are no answers as to why sufferers get it,it seems to affect women more than men,Doctors dont know yet the reasons for it ,but it can become severe and disabling. It can cause poor sleep patterns therefore make you always feeling tired. The good news is though its very painfull its does no damage to your body unlike athritis, but is as painful.Ive been told its a condition that i have to live with, after i attended a pain management clinic,But try as i might to cope best as i can im not very good managing the pains.Iget up most mornings feeling achy and stiff and tired.I hope i dont sound too negative,we are all different.Good luck.
