I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia friday. feel like i will never be well again.anyone else suffer this? |
as a result of this new illness, that has been confrimed,i have now been put on morphine. 40 mg a day. this illness is stopping me from walking properly, and leaves me in pain from head to toe. i was told it cannot be cured,so am at my wits end. i am also due to have a hysterectomy in february. feel like i am literally falling apart. i am only 34 and have so many illness's that i am finding it hard to cope. i have a 2 year old and a 9 year old autistic daughter to look after. i try and hide my pain from them as much as i can,but feel like i am never going to be right and well,as all my illness's are going to be with me for the rest of my life. does anyone else have this fibromyalgia? what course of treatment is helping you the most? its taken 2 years to get my diagnosis. can anyone give me some kind genuine advice to help me get through this tough time. i am asking for kind genuine advice please,am going through enough at the moment. thanks to all who take the time to help me xxxx I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about a year ago but since I was diagnosed so early (I'm 19) I've able to control it some. It gets worse when triggered by something emotional. For me, that trigger is stress, so i'm working on controlling that. If you can ever figure out certain things that trigger an increase in your pain it would make a huge difference. Hi! I鈥檓 sorry that this following answer is so long but it is 鈥淚 thought鈥?wise to answer clearly with a full picture rather than things being taken out of context or partially answered. 2 of 31 3 of 31 4of31 5 of 31 6 of 31 7of31 8 of 31 9of31 10of31 11/31 12/31 13/31 I felt blessed~Women @ the gym wondered how I got my body 2 look like it did~ people were amazed @ the energy I had~So really, keep the faith!4.As far as medications I had the option to many different 1鈥檚.I realized many were depressants&can dope u up causing more depression 2 the situation. Report It 14 of 31 15/31(Any time I felt I could make it without certain things I did but the anti inflammatory were not wise 2 take out of my body @ all because it took 2 long 2 get them working again 鈥渓ive and learn鈥? Report It 16/31Therefore, if I remember correctly the following I took 2 manage & eventually lived comfortably even 2 this day 4 fibromialigia type of pain.1)800 mg of Motrin 2)When pain was becoming or was acute,I added in 2 extra strength Tylenol. Report It 18 of 313)@ times, I used a muscle relaxant~but sparingly until eventually,I need it no more. The Motrin eventually got down 2 as needed. Rarely I used the Tylenol in conjunction.Consequently after a few years I was feeling very well!KEEP THE FAITH! Report It 19/31I than I was so lucky 2 get Parvo b19! (& you know I am being sarcastic)4 the parvo 19 I was put on 1)60 mg of prednisone, which helped to take the edge off 2 recuperate &get moving again. 20/31My Dr. pushed me 2 wean off the prednisone & sometimes as I weaned off I had to up it again. Many people get stuck on it(Not good in the long run)2) Eventually I weaned enough that again 800mg of Motrin could get me through if it was consistently in my body- 20/31Than we felt that I should see how Alieve worked because of the long acting device in it-& how it would do for my pain and inflamation.(I still have 2 take Alieve but now I can get away in non challenging times 2 skip a day,& I am down 2 only 1x a day 鈥渕ostly鈥? Report It I know a lot of people who have fibromyalgia and they find relief from massage therapy and Reike. Usually my massage therapist/Reike specialists treat people who cannot find relief anywhere within the realm of conventional Western medicine. My sister was diagnosed with this disorder over 10 years ago, and she was put on medication...but never morphine! She found that physical training with the help of a trainer and her meds allowed her to work through the daily pain, and she says that she has discomfort, but not such a debilitating wasted feeling from 2 years ago, before she changed doctors and went into physical therapy. |
