I have fibromyalgia do you have any suggestions for me?

Some days are worst than others for me at my worst I still choose to push myself to get out of bed if not I feel guilty about layind down and not doing any thing around my house what do you do to force yourself to get up in the mornings

I have had it for years along with chronic fatigue syndrome and a bunch of other things, what gets me up and going? Medications is the only way I survive. Hopefully you have a good doctor. I have lots of little tricks to help, working in pain mgt. certainly helped! I do feel guilty and had to start seeing a psychiatrist for more medication because everyone around says "your lazy" NOT TRUE, we are in pain, lethargic, stiff, achy, muscle spasms etc... on and on....
I get up every morning at 6 AM get my son off to school, do my house stuff, and lay back down for a nap, take my medication wait 20 minutes back up to feed the family and more house stuff, it is hard, you have to have support groups and see and hear other people going through the same thing. I belong to a fibro group, a chronic pain groups, and individual ones for my conditions. I have made a lot of friends, who go through what we do.

Have you heard of fibro fog? I just found out about it last year, that explains a lot of my symptoms, probably yours too. It is all about accepting the cards that God dealt us or life I should say. It is not to make us suffer but find new ways to deal and still have some quality of life. I never have a day less than a 5 on the scale, even worked with that pain level,w/medications I was able too, until surgeries stared coming along.

But think of it as cancer, you have it, you will always have it, it will get worse, have good days and bad, and try to make each day a wonderful day, I have a lot of pleasure playing with my cats. I have a son too, so I know I have to do things to keep him on track, but think maybe someday medicine will be so advanced maybe there will be a cure! I always remember there are people a lot worse than me, and say my prayers and thank God for the other things he gave me and the 30 years before all this happened, some don't have that, I look at pictures a lot too, my memories of the past come alive, of my trips, and spontaneous acts, and all the naughty things we did in our twenties, LOL. and I loved to dance, so I imagine when I could. another thing that helps, if you don't know how yet, learn BIO-FEED back! It is wonderful. I am sorry this was so long, as I think of you, I am also thinking of me, and all the people on my boards that feel the same way. Have a good day, and never feel guilty about trying to feel better.

I have heard that theraputic massage and/ or chiropractic work for fibromyalgia. It is worth a shot. I am sorry you have that condition, I hear is is really unbearable.

I don't have any advice for you except go to the doctor often if you are hurting. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for you, I know how uncomfortable life must be at times for you.

There are multiple things to try:

1. Eat a healthy well balanced diet. Try to include as much organic grown foods as possible. Eat fresh veggies and fruits. Avoid ALL sugar, hormones, antibiotics, preservatives, and chemicals in processed foods. The garbage in American food can trigger fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. The sooner you purge the garbage out of your body, the sooner you can feel better.

2. Seek a chiropractor or an acupuncturist to help control the pain level.

Take Dr K's advise.
