How does fibromyalgia effect every day living for people who suffer with it? |
I have just beed diagnosed with fibromyalgia and i would like to know what to expect and how it could or will affect my every day life i am 32 female. i was diagnosed with this horrid, painful illness Friday, after 2 years of investigations and tests, have had it since was 32,am now 34. the disease is in the muscles, and the pain can be made worse by stress, and is common in people who suffer with depression. mine is out of control at the minute,so i have had to be put on morphine, bit i have a lot of other medical conditions that don't help with the condition. i currently suffer with muscle spasms and ache all over. kind of like the flu pain, without the cold. i suffer mostly in my legs and my back and neck.i will be attending pain management after i have had my my hysterectomy in February. i have been told a Tenn's machine may help with the pain, and also massage can be a good treatment for this disease. i really feel for you, because i know how bad it can get. i have good days and bad days. really hope you find a treatment that works for you. take good care. warm regards xxx Normally in the neck and shoulders, its just another term for a type of arthritis, these pains can be caused also by tension.iF IT IS,NT TENSION ,THEN YOU WILL HAVE IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.Now you know why a lot of elderly people have trouble moving when they are in a lot of pain.Do without the painkillers as long as you can ,they can be addictive, some use alcohol to numb the pain ,but alcohol destroys.Welcome to the club RICHARD H,and good luck for the future. First of all I'm sorry to hear this. Has your doctor discussed medications with you? That's just it, it will depend day to day on how you feel. There are medications to help ease the pain, also anit-depressants. I found a website that might interest you. Just take it day by day and do what your body will allow you. Please take care of yourself. My neighbor woman has it and when storm fronts move in, it bothers her a great deal more. As far as I know, she's not undergoing pain management and that has affected her outlook on life. generally you will suffer with tireness and there has been occasions that I just need to lie down for 20 min. All the pressure points will hurt. Other way of decribing it is when you are going up the stairs, it feels like you have bricks in your shoes. Your memory may not be good and you will have poor concentration. But hey, it is not all bad, it was sympton free for two years. I found that changing my diet has helped loads. Cut out coffee and red meat, but try and have a glass of red wine per day. limiting dairy also helps. |
