Vicodin withdrawl or fibromyalgia?

I had back surgery three weeks ago and have been taking Vicodin ever since. When the dosage wears off (for example when I wake up in the morning) my entire body hurts and aches. My back pain isn't that bad, but the rest of my body is very sore. It is like I ran a marathon or something, and it is painful to move. Even making a fist hurts.

Is this a normal reaction to the vicodin leaving my system? I am afraid it could be something like fibromyalgia.

Actually I was also taking it for about 3 weeks prior to the surgery, so I guess I have been taking it for six weeks. I stopped taking it in the hospital for a few days because they had me on a morphine drip.

My current dosage is 10/325.

yes
it is a common symptom from vicodin withdrawl

Definitely Vicodin. It will make your body ache when you do not take it and so you take more to try to stop the ache. That's how people become addicted. Give it a few days and the ache will go away. Do NOT continue to take the Vicodin. Good Luck

After only 3 weeks of taking the hydrocodone you should not be feeling withdrawal effects of the drug. I assume when you say vicodin you mean 5/500 hydrocodone maybe 4 times a day.

Anybody that tells you that you are withdrawing after only that length of time and dosage doesn't know what they are talking about.

I've been through years of pain management and have become very familiar with pain meds and what happens when you do and when you don't take them.
I had cervical spine surgery and I still wake up feeling like you stated for the last 10 years.

Best advise. Talk to your doctor.
