Fibromyalgia and cronic fatigue!!!?

My mother has fibromyalgia and cronique fatigue for 5 years. Some days she is totally ok and some times she hurts all over and is stove up. She's been to a million doctors. Does anyone have any good advice or suplimental advise for these conditions? Usually she can control the fibromyalgia by limiting herself on what she does physically but not always. Please help.

Please help us.... we need as much info as we can get!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get rid of conventional cleaning and body care products!

Chemicals in these products have been linked to fibromyalgia symptoms:

Study Title: Use less cosmetics--suffer less from fibromyalgia?
CONCLUSIONS: The results should motivate further studies on the possible adverse effects of cosmetic use in FMS and perhaps other conditions."

"Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance" ("TILT"). TILT has the potential to explain certain cases of asthma, migraine headaches, and depression, as well as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and "Gulf War syndrome". It appears to evolve in two stages: (1) initiation, characterized by a profound breakdown in prior, natural tolerance resulting from either acute or chronic exposure to chemicals (pesticides, solvents, indoor air contaminants, etc.), followed by (2) triggering of symptoms by small quantities of previously tolerated chemicals (traffic exhaust, fragrances, gasoline), foods, drugs, and food/drug combinations (alcohol, caffeine).

Substantial overlap between chemical sensitivity, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome exists: the latter two conditions often involve chemical sensitivity and may even be the same disorder. Other disorders commonly seen in chemical sensitivity patients include headache (often migraine), chronic fatigue, musculoskeletal aching, chronic respiratory inflammation (rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, asthma), attention deficit, and hyperactivity (affected younger children). Less common disorders include tremor, seizures, and mitral valve prolapse. Patients with these overlapping disorders should be evaluated for chemical sensitivity and excluded from control groups in future research.

I can dig up more, there's plenty of evidence available to suggest that fibromyaligia, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic headaches, chronic sinus infections/inflammation and asthma/allergy symptoms are all either caused, increased or more severe from our chemical-laden cleaning and body care products.

They say swimming helps. Weather plays a part. Is she under a good rheumatologist/internist? This makes a world of difference in finding what meds work or what activities. How is her sleep? Does she get to have her muscles sleep also?
Try different things. Loose weight they claim may improve being able to get around because you dont have to lug the extra weight and more energy.

Fibromayalgia can be helped with excercise, even though you don't feel like excercising. It helps! Daily excercise, even when you don't feel like it. It doesn't have to be huge, but it has to be something!

With Chronic Fatigue, you need lots of sleep. But, you also need to keep depression astray. Pick activites that don't take much energy and do those on days where she feels terrible. Let her know that she's valuable, even though she may not feel it.

Doctors won't help. You have to do research yourself. There are plenty of websites. Eat good foods. My experience is that vitamins didn't do too much or glucosamine or any of that that people suggest. I had to work really hard on my memory to keep it going. I had such memory loss that I was at the same level as a 2nd grader. NOw it's beyond HS level. Of that, I'm very happy! Just tell her to keep working on it and keep managing it. It may not ever get totally better, BUT, there is a GREAT chance that it will improve greatly.

Unlike the post above me DOCTORS will help!!! you just need to find the right doctor, mainly one that deals soley with Chronic Fatigue.
