Fibromyalgia, where are the "tender points" the doctors test? |
I have been have a lot of pain everywhere on my body for about 6 months now.. i cant sleep at all and no medicine that i have tried for the pain or getting to sleep have helped at all... i know that a doctor tests the pain reaction to putting pressure on your tender points to diagnose it but i was wandering where the tender points are... i think there are 18? please help. the pain is really bad and it is all over... all the time. also i have a lot of back pain for the past 6 months and i thought that the size of my breasts (no rude comments please) could just be the problem with that but my sister is way bigger than me and she doesnt have nearly as much trouble with it. i am also having severe headaches and they cant find anything that is wrong with me. i am going to see a neurologist on Wednesday and i am wondering where the tender points are so i can check and see if i should be worrying about haveing fibromyalgia. please no rude comments or anything i am 100% serious about this!!!!! A neurologist really isn't the type of dr to diagnosis Fibro, the tender points are only a part of the diagnosis, try to see a rheumatoligist that would be the correct branch of medicine to pursue. I was just recently told that I may have fibromyalgia by a workman's comp doctor. He has referred me to my own family doctor. In the meantime, however, the workman's comp doctor suggested looking at this website for more info: |
