Does that commercial for lyrica make you realize there is a such a thing as fibromyalgia? |
everytime I see the one where the womans skin looks bruised,I get mad that people never believed me when they grabbed me and I screamed. That spot would hurt for hours...like it had just been done seconds ago. and when they pinched me it would make me think if I cut myself there it would bleed and hurt less. but it didn't . I went on like this from age 9 ! One dr said I was hyper-sencitive and for my parents to warn people...that it wasnt my fault.there was something wrong with my skin...so that helped a little. .....well the thing is for people that don't understand this, is that it is hard to concieve that you have wide spread chronic pain...for no apparent reason. I have only seen one suspected case of fibromyalgia in my eight years in the medical field. Sorry but I think the commercial is kind of pathetic and whiny. The woman looks so depressed and tragic. it really doesn't offer any information or education about the problem. no we had to learn about this in school in health class, and if you ever are fatigued, or have anxiety from this you should search online and talk to others who have fibromyalgia, or you could go to your doctor The existence of a treatment doesn't guarantee a disease. Pharmaceutical companies would do everything they can to cash in some money. Yes. My mom was diagnosed with Fibro about 5 years ago. I know it's true b/c I was the one waiting on her hand and foot. Getting up in the middle of the night to take care of her. Taking her to the ER 3xs a week b/c she couldn't get control of the pain. Watching her cry almost 24/7. And now that I have a chronic pain condition; I understand more. It's just people don't understand unless they have expeirence it themselves or something close to them has. I'm glad its getting exposure too. It'll only open the doors to new medications and hope. I was diagnosed with fibro 9 years ago when I was 20. It sucks. Everyone pretty much thinks you are crazy. I finally stopped talking about it and decided to suffer in silence. Hopefully doctors will figure out what causes it, or find a definitive test for it. I have fibromyalgia and thank goodness for lyrica!Lyrica really does help. the common knowledge source should tell you that a certain responder is a quack |
