Do you think that Fibromyalgia is a real disorder? |
Do you think that Fibromyalgia is a real disorder? Yes its very real. I was diagnosed with it as a very young teen. I have good and bad days. It is hard to get people to understand what kind of pain that you feel. It affects every second of your day. There are times that I just ache all over for no reason. You feel like you are carring around weights that are sitting on your shoulders. Sometimes I will go to pick up something and just stand there looking at it because I know that I don't have the strength to lift it. It affects just taking walks for exercise, wanting to pick up your children, very simple things in life that a normal person takes for granted. Good luck to you. Remember you are not alone!! Yes. My friend just got diagnosed with it recently. I have a friend who is an older lady and had been suffering for a long time from what they told her was some type of Arthritis and she actually had Fibromyalgia....so I believe it is real...she did have days where you could see the pain she was in was just terrible im sorry 2 hear that, but dont worry about it many people have been diagnosed with it so ur not alone% ) I know that it is. I was diagnosed with the disorder a few years ago, but have been suffering from it for much longer than that. It is very depressing for me and others that I know that suffer from this condition because much of the general public still does not know about it or believe that it is a valid condition. Thankfully, the FDA recently approved the first medication for Fibromyalgia, Lyrica, which is a huge step and there are even commercials on TV now. I can only hope that eventually all people will understand that it is a real condition and how much people with it suffer. In case anyone is curious about FS, they should check out www.fmaware.org or do a Google search. Tons of great info on the web :) Yes. And it's insulting to those who suffer with it to spout statistical rubbish about child abuse. At the time I got really sick-it was one of the best times in my life-I was in college-enjoying life-- 80% of the sufferers also had a serious case of child abuse, so it would seem to be partially psychology in nature. Its also practically unknown in farm environments, and 80% of the sufferers are women. I believe it is a real disorder, but they have no idea what causes it. Many doctors refuse to diagnosis it. |
