Has anyone tried iodine supplementation treatment for Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue or similar?

I'm thinking of taking Iodoral after reading many, many testimonies of what it has done for others.

Further information: I'm not a new fibro patient...I was diagnosed in 1992 and since then have tried MANY different treatments and approaches. The only two things that have helped me a lot of have been the Fibromyalgia Treatment Center's "Guaifenesin Protocol" and strictly following a diet very reduced in sugar and starch. Thanks for all the answers. I really just wanted to know about Iodoral and the iodine protocol.

Hi I have seen that this works also.My wife has been told by her doctor that she has Fibromylgia about 2 years ago.She has tried the medication that she prescribed for her and they did help. But as she takes a lot of meds she has high blood pressure, allergies, and takes a few pain meds also. She is now on this Guide that we found on line. Its full of natural items to help with the Fibro. She has been on this now for 3 weeks and says that it seems to be working to help ease the pain and fatigue. As doctors now days seem to think that all cures are in a pill the less we have to take the better.I urge you and all to takea look at this cause I do think it will help most. But like all things what works for one wont work for another!http://www.eliminatefibromyalgia.com/fib...

Hi. I have the above and Corvalen works for me. I've never tried the iodine stuff, but theoretically iodine helps more for hypothyroidism.

You can google Corvalen and order it online or by phone, 1-800-267-8253. It's about $40 a jar but well worth it. It's made by Bioenergy Life Science of MN and is a d-ribose supplement that you mix with water. It's a natural sugar that helps your body process ATP better. I noticed that my muscles aches went away after the first day of taking it. It doesn't taste bad. It has a light sugary taste and it is not nutrasweet. You might want to consult a physian first if you have insulin-dependent diabetes. I'm very happy with it. One of the few supplements I've tried that tastes good and actually works.

You can also try drinking more Vitamin d milk and eating more apples. Vit D and malic acid help with energy synthesis. Best of luck.

Unless thyroid issues are what is causing your symptoms, then no, it wont help.

First, I would make sure you do indeed have Fibro/Chronic Fatigue. These syndromes can masqurade as other syndromes and diseases, including hypo/hyperthoyroidism, Candida Albacans overgrowth, etc.

If you do, then a D-Ribose supplement might help. It provides the body with ATP (the first source of energy) and could help. Nutritionally, a good multi-vitamin will help, along with fish or flax oil. Magnesium and Malic Acid might help too. Making sure you are getting enough sleep will help too. I would recommend a book called "Reversing Fibromyaliga" by a Dr. Elrod. This is an excellent book that outlines a holistic approach.

Diet will not stop FMS-

I got WORSE while on a fibrofriendly diet

I have concerns that the people 'cured' by these unproven treatments including ones syggested here-never actually had Fibromyalgia to begin with-
they had a thyroid or viatmin deficience or hyochondria or somethign else-

Yes. It doesn't work. Get a Ribose/Malic acid supplement. Just google for it, it is easy to find.

Lyrica (a drug) is great for Fibro but not for Fatigue.

Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue (ME) etc. are very easy to treat with a diet.

You need to eliminate all dairy products, all sugars and all wheat from your diet. You'll feel much better after a week already. You should also try a diet completely without meat for at least a month and see how you feel when you slowly re-introduce the meat.

Best of luck to you!

When you are talking about fibromyalgia syndrome, it鈥檚 impossible to get through the subject without chronic fatigue coming up. The sensation of being constantly tired is likely to be one of the first symptoms a new patient will notice, along with inexplicable pain. Due to the rarity of the disease and the lack of standard level of care in terms of testing, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue can be difficult to diagnose and the patient may suffer for months or years before finding the right answer. For our purposes here, we will focus on the problems that the fatigue symptom causes and what a fibromyalgia patient can do on their own to combat the effects.
