Medication for fibromyalgia?

Provigil for fatigue, Effexor for depression, trepiline for muscle relaxer, subutex for chronic pain and Alpralozam for anxiety. It sound like too much. Would like your opinion.

It is a lot but these are fairly standard multifactorial approaches since there is no cure. You also might add Lyrica to the list. You take what works for you and if it is not working exclude it from your regimen.

I am currently on 9 different medications. Make sure your GP is constantly checking on your medications and keep a detail as to what is working for you and what each drug is doing. What drugs have helped what symptoms. Its hard with fibro as day to day can be different so imagine how hard it is for your doctor.

Make sure you are taking drugs that are working and if they are not tell your doctor. Thats what Gps are there for. If you have a problem with a medication or you feel it is not doing its job tell your GP.

Again everyone is different and everyones drugs with Fibro often differ slightly from patient to patient being that there is no real cure.

Lyrica, the only approved medication for fibromyalgia, did me a lot of good despite the weight gain of a pound a month. It helps with anxiety, pain and also aids with your sleep. But you have to be willing to exercise (walking) at least 4 times a week to lessen the weight gain and have a healthy oriented diet. Talk to you Dr. about it...

IT IS TOO MUCH! I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 8 years ago. I was told that aerobic physical activity helps with the pain. and it does. Fibromyagia people do not easily enter the deepest form of sleep to allow their muscles to restore themselves. Regular activity helps me sleep sounder and I feel much better. Also drinking a lot of water helps the muscle pain too. Don't let doctors talk you into a bunch of medication that carries sometimes horrible side effects. I use Advil when I have a bad flare up, but nothing more. try seeing homeopathic doctor who cares about the whole you and doesn't just want to cover up symptoms.

Guaifenesin!!!!!!! Read the book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" by R Paul St Amand. I could not believe how it nailed the problems I was having. I have no connections to this book or author, but I sincerely believe this could be the answer for a lot of people suffering from fibromyalgia.

Before you go on all those meds, do a trial 6 weeks run of DRibose. It makes a difference for about 69% of the fibro patients who try it. Read my blog if you haven't heard of it. It works on teh cellular level and is a natural part of our bodies.(Its the "d" in your DNA.)

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by fatigue, widespread pain in muscles, ligaments and tendons, and multiple tender points. And speaking for a fibromyalgia treatment to be truly effective, it is imperative for the patient to take excellent care of themselves on a daily basis. That includes eating a well balanced diet and getting plenty of exercise. Exercise may be difficult and painful at first, but it will get easier and actually help with the symptoms of the disorder like chronic fatigue and pain. The right amount of sleep each night is another non medical habit that can help relieve fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.
