Me and My Fibromyalgia? |
I have Fibromyalgia. I have pain, fatigue, fibro fog, etc. But, I work full time. I can not quit as I carry the health ins for our family. It isn't easy and I do miss a lot of work but I have a very understanding boss and doctors that confirm what I am going through. I have my primary care, a rheumotologist and a therapist for depression. And, as for a doctor that thinks this is BS. Hmmm, a doctor that doesn't believe there is such a thing is a doctor that thinks he can cure anything and this is something he can not, therefore, it is BS. My husband is more understanding now than he was when I was first diagnosed. I am not on a lot of medications. I tried Lyrica, after 5 weeks and gaining 15 lbs, no difference. I won't try it again, that was my second time. I like you, suffer from fibromyalgia and I also have SLE (Lupus). It is a very painful condition and it seems that nothing relieves the incredible pain we suffer. My Rheumatologist/immunologist suggested low-dose anti-depressants as apparently they can help to ease the pain, but I didn't want to partake of those. He also suggested I join a gym and exercise and swim. I havn't tried any of those either. I just keep going and I still go to work but only about 25 hours per week. I have tried alot of different pain tabs including codeine etc. But as I don't like taking pills full stop I only take them when I can't stand it any longer. I have started taking an anti-inflammatory tablet called ibuprofen which seems to be easing the pain slightly. Maybe it might be worth a try for you. Hope this helps you. Is there a question here? Sounds like you have a good understanding of your condition and have the specialists in place to help you out. I agree that it is BS for doctors to think that our condition is not real and I like the statement that they think they can cure anything.
