Could it be fibromyalgia?

I have had these few symptoms for years now and the doctors have not settled on a decision... my physiotherapist ask me if anyone had mentioned fibromyalgia to me and to be honest no doctor has even mentioned this disorder to me... now after reading the symptoms Im wondering if this could be my diagnosis. If you have Fibro. can you tell me if my symptoms sound familiar.... The doctors are wondering about lupus or rheum arth. for me.. but tell me I dont have enough symptoms for a diagnosis.. so they are telling me its chronic pain right now... oye.. so frustrating.

low back pain
cervical neck pain
restless legs at nite
I cant differentiate between if its joint or muscle pain I have as it interchanges... but affects my jaw, knees, ankles and wrists
I am super tired (its goes in phases of being bad to not so bad)
rashes to my skin on my fingers..

thanks to all those who answer.

The tenderpoints would need to be examined to help with a fibromyalgia diagnosis but based on what you are explaining it could very well be fibro. I'm wondering about your head too - any headaches, memory/cognitive issues? That is a major fibro symptom. It is extremely frustrating trying to get a diagnosis when you have symptoms that match several conditions. Rashes don't really fit with Fibromyalgia-although some people do say it could--

the rash could be a completely different cash from the other symptoms

Arthritis and Lupus could be ruled out with blood tests..

Fibromyalgia is believed to be a disorder of teh central nervous system-and does not cause inflammation

The rashes might be a sign of an inflammation or an auto-immune disorder-

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is thought to be an autoimmune disorder.

I have points of pain as well as burning skin. I have a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, Osteo Arthritis( widespread) and Antiphospholipid syndrome, which is a "lupus-like" autoimmune disease with widespread joint and muscle pain and poor circulation causing me the night-time leg pain and needing to stretch and move them. My fatigue comes and goes, and I have rashes on many parts of my body. You might look into having blood work done to test for this disease There are curently no blood tests for Lupus or Fibromyalgia, so they both must be diagnosed with the clinical findings.

It might be, it might also be arthritis, maybe you should seek a third or fourth oppinion. Ask your doctors for a referral to a specialist with both of these - no matter which one if you go untreated, it will get worse!

I diagnosed myself with it. Cold and achey. restless legs at nite, joint pain, tired. Then I am alright for a few weeks. It comes and goes. It's something I have learned to live with.

You should go see a rheumatologist . You didnt mention your sleep problems. If you sleep well, its not likely to be fibromyalgia.

This sounds familiar. What does your rash look like - is it groups of tiny little blistery spots, larger bumps that look more like hives? Is the surrounding area red? Is it warm to the touch? Is your joint and muscle pain mostly on one side or the other when you have it? Have you checked to see if you run a temperature when these flare ups occur?

I have been diagnosed with fibro but I also have Crohn's and am suspect for SLE or myositis. Right now my diagnosis is mixed connective tissue disease which is pretty generic. I have been living without a 'real' diagnosis for many years (20+) but, as long as the doctor's treat you with the same meds, I guess it doesn't really matter what they call it. Hopefully you are getting some type of help! You didn't mention what type of doctor you are seeing but if you have not yet seen a rheumatologist, you should do so. I have found through trial and error that they are really the only doctors equipped to diagnose these complex diseases. It can take months to get into see one of them as a new patient so don't delay!
