Is it fibromyalgia?

I am only 37 yr old and think I suffer from fibromyalgia. My body aches and when I sleep on my side at night, my ears go to sleep and ache. They wake me up. My hips and shoulders will also ache. My body is very sensitive. You can touch my arms or chest with a finger and it feels like a bruise. What is this?

Fibromyalgia is NOT diagnosed with a blood test

Genetic or inflammation blood tests will indicate otehr conditions.

It is possible it is Fibromyalgia-but pain alone doesn't equal a diagnosis-coudl be anything from your lifestyle/bed to another disease..

Generaly there is fatigue, cognitive issues and many otehr problems associated with fibromyalgia

It is believed to be a neurological condition--there is no inflammation

I have fibromyalgia, and it has taken years for me to be diagnosed. Check around to see if there is anyone in your area who specializes in this condition. It is not an easy condition to diagnose, since so many other conditions must be eliminated first. The specialist can administer whatever tests/procedures that will prove fibromyalgia through this elimination process. Many will order bloodwork done to determine other factors, as well as an indepth medical interview. If you already have seen a doctor for this already, contact them to request copies to be sent to the specialist at least a week before your first appointment.
Some other conditions, like chronic fatigue or IBS, might also be a factor. As a patient I can tell you there is no easy treatment. If you feel depressed you should definitely tell someone. I had a ex-doctor tell me it was depression which caused my condition, and yes I was, and it made me even more depressed. Then I thought, who would have this condition and not be depressed. That one bit of humor made me see this in a different way. I am the ultimate doctor for my body. Although it did not "cure me" I got doctors who prescribed meds to help me help myself. Now I do my best every day and I am rather proud of it. I have learned the warning signs like I have pushed myself too hard. Rest when I can though. Good luck!

It is possibly be fibromyalgia, however, I've never heard it making body parts go to sleep.

You ought to go a rheumatologist or psychiatrist for an evaluation. When making an appointment make sure you ask if the MD treats Fibromyalgia patients because there are still MDs who don't really believe in it.

It could be fibro but are you experiencing any other symptoms which are common to fibro like headaches, depression, stomach problems? If you are experiencing pain only well it could be many things and you would likely need to have some blood tests and/or x-rays to determine what you are suffering from.

It could be any number of things, I would go to my doctor and have and ANA and Double strand DNA this will let them know if it's an auto immune illness such as LUPUS, Fibromialgia, crones, ect ect I have some of these same symptoms and I have LUPUS SLE. THis is just a simple blood test and is very much worth it.
