Fibromyalgia. Were you sick before the onset?Does anyone think its hormonal? |
I have had this trouble for 4years now with all symptoms. I look normal so I have no sympathy and my work load is ever increasing. My arm aches if I talk on the phone too long. My leg aches if I get caught in traffic. I have recently purchased a magnet underblanket with 'infrared crystal' - it has been great. It doesn't cure it but it does sooth the pain overnight so I don't wimper in pain as I roll over in bed anymore. I have managed the stomache cramps by altering my diet to a very bland - no coffee, no garlic, no onion diet etc. Do any of you out there have any tips!! - Fibromyalgia does make life miserable. I had mono, and after having it I never was the same. I finally found a doctor who took my symptoms seriously and ran every blood test known to man. After they all came back fine, she did the pressure point test, and she said she was 99.9% positive I had fibro, but only a rheumatologist could make the official diagnosis. I moved since then and haven't been able to get to a rheumy doc. However, I have found that exercising helps me, although for the first month or so, it made me feel worse. I guess you have to get worse before you can get better. For me stretching helps along with walking. I've found that cutting out caffeine for the most part, has helped with my fatigue and sleep problems. However it's not easy for me because I also have endometriosis, another energy zapping disease. And it's very painful. I consider myself a strong person for dealing with both of these conditions. Hi there, yep I was sick too. I got a horrible virus. I think it's autoimmune and hormones influence it too. I take lupron now to shrink an ovarian cyst so I'm in a drug induced menopause and believe me it makes the fibro alot better, not gone, but 80% better. The diet sucks too, it's almost like you crave to eat normally and want the food so bad but you have weigh the odds if it's worth the pain later. It does make life miserable, you're right on that one. FMS is not hormonal...although hormones can aggravate it at times. |
