Do fibromyalgia sufferers have ankle edema, hypertension, or migraines?

Diagnosed with Fibromyagia almost 4 years ago, and have recently started having ankle swelling, hypertension, and migraines. Just wondered if anyone else have had these symptoms along with fibro!!! I recently quit taking my birth control pills, but have had a tubal. I am trying to figure out if the migraines have started because of a hormonal imbalance or from fibro. I have tried to cut down my caffiene intake since my swelling and migraines have started, and am trying to watch my salt intake.....Help!!!

I was diagnosed about 5 months ago. I'm 18 but have had symptoms since I was 11. I have ankle swelling as well, but I've had repeated sprains of my ankle so that's why. It's not related to fibro.

I have migraines as well. You shouldn't be on the pill if you have migraines. I'm on the mini pill now. There are so many reasons why you get migraines. It's best to speak to your rheumatologist about it.

I was dx about 1 yr ago with FM. Usually any type of swelling or hypertension are not related to FM but the migraines could be. However FM sufferers symptoms vary so much it is hard to say for sure. Reducing salt is a good step, also make sure you have good shoes and rest often. Stress can effect our bodies alot. If you haven't already, talk to your Dr soon. Good Luck!

It sounds as if you have water retention. Not ridding your body of toxins properly, will cause migraines and caffeine will not be good for you at the moment.

It is best to see a doctor, although I prefer a homoeopathic doctor, who can suggest the best, safest way to deal with your conditions.

The edema could be a signof RSD-which mimics Fibromyalgbia-

you coudl be misdiagnosed or have 2 different conditions

I think it stands for reflex sympathetic dystrophy
