How are you dealing with your Fibromyalgia?

I have been sick for 10 years. Diagnosed with FMS in 2002. I currently work part -time. I am getting worse and worse. Severe pain every day, chronic migraines, fatigue, etc. Right this minute I am at work and having really bad dizzy spells. Its so tough to work and have this. Who here has it? How do you personally deal?

A lot of people have it. I was told a few years back tht I had it and it ended up being I had nerve damage due to a spine injury.

Massage therapy has been my life-saver! I go every 2 weeks and it gets rid of those horrible headaches and helps with some of the pain in my back. Other than that, just being mentally strong is all we can do and although it is hard just remember how much stronger than the average person you are because of what you overcome everyday! Keep thinking that and you will begin to feel like you can conquer anything.

I was diagnosed about 1 yr ago. I'm on Cymbalta. I was on Lyrica and it didn't help much but I've heard several people say they liked it. Lyrica made me gain weight which didn't help my condition. I also go to physical therapy 2 times a week and it helps a little. They teach me stretches, a few strengthening exercises and do massage. They also have a hydro-bed which is very nice. The main thing I have learned that helps is to get as much rest as you can. I have 2 kids so it's not easy but it's essential. I wear comfy shoes and try to stay somewhat active but don't push myself too hard or I'll flare. My rheumatologist suggested yoga which I plan to try. I hope some of this helps. I know it's frustrating but just know you aren't alone.

I ignore the so called medical professionals and research on my own and find what works for me...

I figured out it was a neurological disorder before doctors knew.....and sought out neuro based treatment...I became the first perosn to receive the Vagus Nerve stimulator and am about 25% better...

i have had neck pain for a long time it really hurts all the time, i stretch through the pain, nothing to put a pull or strain on myself but nice breathing and stretching i.e. yoga has helped me at least feel better mentally about it.

Don't pay attention to the thumbs down-they are from teh FIBROFRUIT guy who doesn'tr know about REAL Fibromyalgia and is only tryign to sell his product and essentially steal your money-

THAT IS MY ADVICE.
