Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but treated for Lupus?!!!? |
Is it just me or has anyone else been diagnosed with FM when they suffer from severe fatigue and joint pain and SLE has been ruled out? What is a non-medicated, non-excercised way of getting better? I keep telling my doc I can't exercise cause of severe pain and she keeps telling me you better do it cause that is THE ONLY CURE????!!!! It feels like she thinks I'm so stupid that in a world of modern medicine there would be no temporary painkillers. Even if that is the case, why is she prescribing Meds. used to treat SLE??!!! Is she lying and why would she be? I've also been diagnosed with FM. My doctor prescribed pain relief meds and one that helps me sleep. I feel 98% better since then. It is impossible to excercise until the pain is alleviated.... there is no cure for FM. I strongly suggest you change doctors to get the help you need. Apparently the one you have now is not well versed in FM. I sincerely hope you find someone who can help you through this awful pain. sounds like a typical doc who is too stupid to understand why his malpractice insurance is so high! my sister has fibromyalgia....and has loads of information. She is on vacation. If you provide an email contact, I will have her contact you. I feel like they tell me I have FM because they dont know what is really wrong with me! I hate the med for it. It's expensive and has side effects. I was on Lyrica. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgi... first of all sorry you have fibro, ive had it fr 12 yrs, what medicine or you on?what test did you take to get dignosed with fibro? pressure points?because blood tests doesnt pick up fibro,im not able to excersise right now due to chronic stomach pain but excerise does help but there is no cure for fibro, there are two approved meds for fibro and thats cymbalta(which i cant take)and the other one is lyrica ,which i havnt tried,i take soma(muscle relaxer) which is a controlled substance that they dont want you to take for long periods of time,it only takes the edge off for me,im still in constant pain, there is a website with alot of usefull info,it will take alot of time to read it but its worth it and explains alot,www.stopfibro.com hope this helps,if you ever need to talk to someone feel free to message me,take care |
