Is Fibromyalgia caused by spine problems? |
I read the following article that sites a article in the Journal of Pain to finding that show that a cause for Fibromyalgia might actually be a problem with the spine. Does anyone here know of any other articles that also show that this might actually be the cause? I'd love to read more about this being a possibility as I and a lot of others with FMS feel their pain starts in their backs or it's the source. Thanks for anyone out there that can help. Your saying you got a pacemaker for the central nervous system, but the spinal cord is related to that. It seems like the two others who said they have FMS have also had spine problems which still makes me think that it might be related to nerves firing in the spinal cord some how that are causing our pain. Many people I've read have pain after injury or pregnancy and I know with pregnancy which is when mine started, the spine actually shifts to make room for the baby. I just wonder if some how the nerves in the spine are exposed and can trigger pain like in a toothache when a high glycemic diet is eaten which I've also read and noticed myself, effects my FMS. Doc is completely off base- it's the neurotransmitters in the brain--(brain chemicals)---- I don't doubt that it does have something to do with the spine because before the year 2000 I never hurt anywhere but my upper back. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and found out that I had a bad case of Kyphosis, Grandma's disease, He done posterior spinal fusion with instramentation from my c4 disc to my lower thoracic spine. Screwed me up big time...But to answer your question since interfering with my spine I now have fibromyalgia, arthritus, you name it I have it....hope you feel better soon Regrettably, with Fibromyalgia and CFS, we're still largely in the dark. There's different theories, but no consensus. Well, yes and no. It is more prevalent for theories to state that it is a colon bacterial imbalance. Then we go to sciatica as the cause, then you may follow that over-reaction to sciatica causes Tension Mysositis Syndrome which mimics Fibromyalgia, but not as widespread. Good luck! |
