Fibromyalgia: If you've been diagnosed, please share your experiences, I was diagnosed Monday? |
For a long while I was tired and in pain all the time and people thought I was being a big baby and making excuses to lay around alot. Now I know I really do have this condition. Does anyone else have pain in their tail bone and jaw constantly? Hi. I am sorry to hear you have fibromyalgia. I have been diagnosed for 2 years now. It is not fun. Please know that you are not alone. If you google fibromyalgia forums or fibromyalgia message boards you will find sites that offer information, support and understanding. In the meantime...do you have a doctor who specializes in fibromyalgia? Most people who have fibro are on medications for pain or muscle relaxants. Some of us are on anti-depressants. Everyone is different in how and where they feel pain but then again...we can all relate to the pain. I have pain in my legs, arms, hands and neck today. My jaw bothers me a lot too. My tail bone hasn't bothered me. yes i get pain in jaw and i can't stand for along period of time cause my tail bone hurts. every joint in my body cracks now and it hurts when it does it. i can't sleep at night cause the pain in my legs, feet, elbows and exspecially in my neck. i have been having a very tough week. i am getting retested for lupus on thurs. i have one gland in my neck that has been inlarged for 3 months now. Fibromyalgia just plain out sucks!! you can read about it at myfibro.com lots of imformation on there. my best friend has this as well but there are many difference. i wish you all the best!! There is no doubt that living with a chronic illness isn鈥檛 one of life鈥檚 most exciting joys. As a matter of fact, it can be one of the most trying experiences of a person鈥檚 life. Take that frustration and compound it by about a million and you have something close to the problems a person with fibromyalgia is forced to deal with day in and day out. This little understood disorder is difficult to diagnose, often misunderstood by the patient鈥檚 family and friends, and incredibly painful on top of all that. Each patient is different, but the understanding the basics of this disease is vital in providing support to affected people. |
