Is there any ways of coping with FibroMyalgia?

I am looking for new remedies to ease my pain, I currently take celebrex and Tylenol 3 and I am looking for an alternate means to relieve my pain as the pills I take don't seem to work. I am looking for something that is not a drug to keep me high

I find that getting up and moving around is better than staying on the couch under a blanket. Since I have been living in a warmer climate it doesn't bother me as much either.

No wonder

those meds are not good fro FMS

there is no inflammation--therefore Celbrex has limited effect

Tylenol 3 works on the pain that goes from the muscles to teh brain--it is the opposite with FMS

you need to treat the signals going from the brain to teh muscles

it is a disorder of teh central nervous system--the most promising tretaments are neuro in nature--Cymbalta and Lyrica--maybe tramadol

The best thing I have found has been massage therapy. I go every 2 weeks for a 30 minute massage and it helps so much because it minimizes the pain and headaches and relieves stress. Other than that I take some Robaxacet or Gravol and they help with the pain and stomach issues and they also make me a bit drowsy so I can get a good night sleep and avoid flare ups.

my mama has it and the doctor told her to exercise and stretch alot......shes been doing both and shes been feeling much better, she walks a bit every night and does a few stretches in the morning, she said shes been able to get out of bed easier in the morning since shes started that
