SSDI/fibromyalgia/terminal?

someone told me that SS lists Fibromyalgia as a TERMINAL illness.

available info says FMS isn't even listed as an illness with SS....

http://www.disabilitysecrets.com/social_...

i have also triedn ths SS website-I cannot verify this info.

Is FMS considered to be terminal by SS.????

It isn't-it's chronic-no more terminal that cerebral palsy, blindness, or amputation.

before anyone jumps down my throat and tells me not be be lazy and I don't deserve disability--

I am not applying for disability--in fact I am working overtime..

this is just a statement someone made that I want to verify.

DOES SS CONSIDER FIBROMYALGIA TO BE TERMINAL?

JUST call SS are annoying NON ANSWERS

that is great for someone sitting home all day--but it is hard enough to get answers from SS when you are actually applying--

if you think that is such a great idea--you do it and get back to me with your answer--i will be working 60 hours this week-

This is the listing of impairments. It is not listed at all on here (you can search on top left), so it is obviously not listed as terminal. I am not totally sure this is the right branch of social security as I know there are two different types? But here is the link anyway in case it helps.

eta- I don't think they list diseases themselves as terminal anyway, it is done on a case by case basis? You need a certain disease and certain medical requirements beyond just the diagnosis of 'liver cancer' or something like that.

You might call or visit Social Security Administration (SSA) to get the information that you are wanting.

Social Security Administration (SSA)
www.ssa.gov
www.socialsecurity.gov

A Social Security Administration (SSA) paper on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), AKA Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. In the paper it mentioned that there is considerable overlap of symptoms between CFS and Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS).

SSR 99-2p
http://www.socialsecurity.gov/OP_Home/ru...

FIBROMYALGIA is not terminal.

Fibromyalgia is not directly addressed by Social Security. (Some try to get it covered as an immune disorder http://www.ssa.gov/disability/profession... People do not get benefits on the basis of having a specific disability anyway. They get on the basis of how much WHATEVER disability they have makes it difficult or impossible to do basic self-care or to be employed.

"Fibromyalgia" has never appeared in the SS regs - so this person is wrong. SS has been SILENT regarding fibromyalgia. If this person was TOLD something by a worker - that was the OPINION of the worker and not official.

ETA: I do not see anything in your link that mentions Fibromyalgia. Section C that you quote is only taken into account when at least one of the 4 critical situations in Section B is met. I don't see how this link is relevant at all.
