Need to lose weight, but fibromyalgia causes pain!? |
I have fibromyalgia and this makes exercise difficult and very painful, all i can seem to do is walk.....but i need to lose like 40 lbs. and i don't think just walking will do it (of course i am trying to eat healthy too). any thoughts....serious comments only please! thanks;-) My mom and all my aunts have that, and I grew up watching them go through it. Even had to be there to help my mom out when she was experiencing a lot of pain sometimes. But what she did was just cut down on her foods, and if she got hungry and needed to eat, she'd eat some cheerios or a banana or something. she pretty much ate what she wanted, but had less, and ate more healthy stuff to cover the other stuff she liked to eat. she walked the dog, and she likes working in her garden (moving around a lot) maybe u should find a hobby that let's u move around a little, and if u get tired, sit down and race. and also she did water therapy. that really helped her out a lot. it'll make you tired, but it helps out. although, i believe her water therapy was for more reasons than that, but she did lose weight and her legs got a little stronger. she still trips over herself though. but try that. eveybody can't go on a "normal" diet. u have to push it sometimes to benefit your body. good luck I am on Lyrica for the Fibro...took a few weeks for the pain to stop - but I didn't give up. If you're not on Lyrica see a doctor, ask about the meds and ask about an exercise program - and don't underestimate the health benefits of walking! i have fibromyalgia too, plus im handicapped. so i would love to hear an idea that will actually work. i cant even go for walks. what is do is watch this tv show called Sit and be Fit- i have no idea if it is on your tv stations,. but it has exercises designed for people in wheelchairs, and so it is perfect for fibromyalgia sufferers. if you are in canada, its on the access station. Please look at my site. There are some real testimonials about fibromyalgia. The people talk about how they got rid of their pain by drinking MonaVie. And it also helps with losing weight. |
