What treatment for fibromyalgia is best?

medications

the treatment that works for you

FMS is Highly over diagnosed--you need to be sure you really have FMS---it is NOT a vitamin deficiency, body acid, a live problem, autoimmune, ther is no swelling

many people who claim to have been cure never had real fms--tehy had a nother conditionwith simialr symptoms

IT IS NEURO--so teh best treatments regulate the neuro system

the 3 apprived meds are
Cymbalta, Savella (SNRI
Lyrica (antiseizure)

they do seem to help some people--but there is more hype than hope

There is NO INFLAMMATION--so NSAIDS don't really help

Diet and Exercise don't so much help FMS itslef--but they optimize teh body to better deal with it

Narcotic pain killers have limited success--as tehy target teh pain form teh bidy to teh brain

instead of the brain to teh body liek neuro meds

most people say heat helps--but ice works for me

Unfortunately there is no definitive answer for that. However I can tell you from personal experience that a combination of Lyrica and Effexor XR have helped me. However I have not tried Cymbalta or Savella. Your doctor would be the best person to answer that question since he/she knows your medical history. I agree with the previous post that there is a lot of hype about Fibromyalgia. Not because it's not real, just that in my opinion many doctors don't perform enough tests to rule out other causes before giving a diagnosis. I would suggest exhausting all other possibilities (testing for other conditions) before starting ANY drug. Lyrica and Effexor are both addicting and the withdrawl symptoms are horrendous.
