Fibromyalgia @ age29? |
My best friends cousin was just told she has Fibromyalgia and she is 29 years old. She has 3 young children. I was wondering what this means for the future, Is it treatable? Thank you. If you mean will it go away entirely, no it sadly will not. There are a variety of medications she will have to take so that she's in less pain. Exercise is advised, though it hurts a lot at first it eases the pain a whole lot once you get up a nice pace. It shouldn't affect her future too badly beyond getting into a more healthy routine. Best of luck to her and her children. 1st of all--Fibromyalgia (FMS) is highlhy over diagnosed by incomeptant docs--she needs to be sure she really has it--and is not tired and achy from raising children atht don't let her sleep or she has anotehr condition liek a viatmin deficiency or hormonal problem.... Fibromyalgia knows no age, as all sickness does. It is treatable with anti-inflamatory drugs and excerise. There is no cure. There are groups, just like AA that you can join and discuss with others who have it. It is a misunderstood syndrone many factors are involved. The best thing to do, I think is to find a doctor who believes that it does indeed exist, because many do not, and make an appt. I hope she does. Lyirca helps most patients. If she works a job she could draw disability in most cases. Needs to exxercise. Go to medhelp. Just key in that in search field in yahoo and you can join and read up about it. Love that sight. |
