What are some alternative methods to treat fibromyalgia? |
My mom has had Fibro for 3 years now and is on TONS of pain killers. I worry a lot about her liver and quality of life on them and wonder what alternative methods there are. She is allergic to lyrica so please don't leave a ton of posts about that drug. Serious answers only please! Natural recommendations for treatment of fibromyalgia: If you're going to try Jen's recommendations, make sure to talk to your doctor before taking the 800 IU of Vitamin E and ONLY take that much Vitamin A if it is Beta Carotene... You could try D-Ribose, Magnesium, a good B Complex (B-50 is usually adequate), Malic Acid, Methionine, and/or TMG (Trimethylglycine). Hi there, I am a Reiki practitioner and I have been working with a lady with fibromyalgia on and off for a couple of months - we have seen fantastic results, she has very little discomfort now and no disturbed sleep due to pain anymore. After the first treatment she said she had the best sleep she had had in many years and woke up with no pain for a change. I will still be treating her as often as possible as she still has a wee way to go , but the results were instant . the other recomended medsa re the SNRI (Cymbalta, Savella)--although they do seemto help some--there is more hype than hope... Massage seems to help those suffering with fibromyalgia.
