Fibromyalgia question? |
We believe my wife has fibromyalgia. The doctor believes that, but he is doing some other tests to rule other stuff out, but based on everything else with her thats what it seems like. She is taking she is taking cataflam and glucosamine, and they really seem to be helping her some. I was wondering from anybody else that has this, is there anything i can do or we can do to help her get some relief. She hurts all over, but the majority of the pain is in her legs and lower back. Any advice on this would be appreciated. My mom has that and I began exhibiting symptoms of it as well about 3 years ago. I had a lot of issues with my legs feeling itchy without any rash or visible signs, my feet swelling and turning colors without any reason, and my legs feeling like I ran 20 miles without having really walked around for the day. I finally found a free way to help myself. I began to elevate my legs for 45 minutes each night. I would elevate as I watched tv and not just like 1 or two pillows worth of height, like 4 or 5 pillows worth. I would put the pillows under my feet or shins and watch tv. The itching and swelling went away as well as the pain that doctors told me they couldn't explain and I knew I wasn't just crazy. I hope this helps. Try it every night for a couple of weeks to see if this works. I know you have probably heard that it is good to continue exersizing and to eat a healthy diet. Those help but not as much as elevating did. Good luck! I'm very sorry to hear of the diagnosis. Fibromyalgia is an excrutiatingly painful disease and those who are inflicted suffer a great deal. A coworker was recently diagnosed with the ailment and has been on 6-7 different medications, but none offered pain relief. She is now using a blend of acai berries and other fruits in the Mona Vie blend. It is a drink used 2x day. The active blend has glucosamine in it (the original does not) and she said it has REALLY helped her joints. She feels better and is sleeping better. She's also lost weight. I have knee problems from old softball injuries and have started using the blend. I've already noticed a HUGE difference in the pain I usually have in the evening after being active all day. Check into on the web and find a local distributor to see if you can try a sample. It's not cheap but so far it's been well worth the cost. I've worked with people who have fibromaylgia. but to help her out when meds arent doing anything, get her to see a massage therapist..you may start laughing but we are able to help relax the pain for a person with fibromaylgia..that is our whole purpose and goal is to help relieve muscle pain. depending on how bad the pain is to her you may need to have her see a massage therapist if there is one near you at least 3 times a week. Hi. I was doing a google search for what self-honoring meant and it somehow lead me to this yahoo Q&A. Ironiclly, I believe I can supply you with information that can help, but I can not post it on here. Email me and I'll send you information from www.BioNutrition.org - It's a pay site that I'm a member of that provides nutritional supplement recomendations for several chronic degenerative diseases including Fibromyalgia. Posting the BioNutrion.org information on here would be a violation of their argreement and I would comprimise my integrity. Chris.Burrows[at]gmail. com - I want to help |
