Fibromyalgia and children?

what is the best way to cure fibromyalgia SYMPTOMS in children, or at least ease the pain.

Unfortunately there is no cure yet for Fibromyalgia. I believe I have had Fibromyalgia since childhood myself and have run the whole routine for treatments from biofeedback to Fentynl patches.
My best advise is make sure they get plenty of sleep, take a multiple vitamin, keep them active in at least low impact sports, and consider Magnesium Glycinate and Malic Acid supplements (consult the doctor or a nutritionist to have their Magnesuim level checked- it is a simpe mouth swab and not painful), you may want to learn some massage techniques for "growing pains", and try to get them to take 2-3 warm Epson Salt baths a week (Epson salt contains Magnesium and soaking in a warm tub of it helps to get the mineral into the body. Magnesium aids the muscles in using oxygen and when the level is low (which is typical in Fibro) it can cause are cramps, spasms, and pain.) Also, Fibromyalgia is a neurotransmitter disorder certain foods can trigger similiar symptoms to Fibro. Try eliminating Monsodium Glutamate from their diet. I did and some of my symptoms (chronic headaches and nausea) went away. It is in everything from Doritos to chicken soup. A few key finding's of an FDA study found MSG to cause a "burning sensation in the back of the neck, forearms and chest".

Like the other woman has stated there is no cure. While i can't say i know a whole lot about childhood fibromyalgia. I do know that there is a site for doctors that deal with fibromyalgia. the address is http://www.co-cure.org/good-doc.htm... . this has alot of dr's throughout the US and abroad. I found my doctor there and I know that some places do have dr's that deal with pediatric fibro. there are books out there as well. here is one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743262... I personally own this book and find it can have useful information in it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1569245... I really hope this helps you out. I know that it is hard to come to grips with but being supportive and finding help is the best way. Educating yourself can make you your child's best advocate.
