Why do so many people have Fibromyalgia?

Is the Government covering something up?

If they were you will never know. I believe its one of two things- the prossessed food we eat or the chemicals that we drink in our clean water.
I think it has become such an epidemic that something is up.
I know so many people who have this ,I do and its a really nasty debilitating thing to have.
probably because its becoming more recognised. years ago, docs covered it up, because there are other illnesses that mimick fibro. just like theres more info about cancers and stuff, fibro is becoming more known, because more people are coming forward. fibro is a rotten illness and can cause a great deal of symptoms. its something that shouldnt be brushed off. and if the gov did something about health funding, more people will have access to treatments!!! but thats just my opinion.
personal experience
No .... people have always had aches and pains such as those with "Fibromyalgia" ... as has happened with many things, especially psychological disorders, they just gave it a name, that's all.
id say it a cause of all the S*** they put in food. Chemicals are killers. Like Bht-butylated hydro toulene. a preservative, oil based, it is in everything from bread to jet feul.
If the medical profession is not unified on what causes fibromyalgia, then the government does not have a clue either, and the medical profession is not unified.

My readings regarding my own condition - formerly hypoglycemic, now diabetic, seem to indicate that fibromyalgia may happen in tandem with high insulin (hyperinsulinemia) - the precursor condition for hypoglycemia, diabetes and heart trouble. One doctor I am aware of www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com believes these conditions can work together to make fibromyalgia worse.

Just recently though I have found out I have a systemic yeast syndrome. In learnining about that, (see www.hufa.org - the yeast link), I found it may contribute to the worsening of my diabetes.

If 75% of the American population is at risk for hyperinsulinemia and that can lead to fibromyalgia - now you know why there are so many people with fibromyalgia.
Granted, there may be several thousands of people who really suffer from the symptoms of Fibromyalgia but there is that segment of the population that claim they have it just as an excuse not to get off their lazy asses and get a job. I know several people who collect a hefty SSI check everymonth and their disability claim is that they have F>M> Bull..They get around better than my 73 year old momma ever could and they sure can spend the money going on trips and out partying all nite.
And we wonder why there will be no Social Security when our younger working generation gets old..kick these freeloaders off the SSI roles and make them earn a living like the rest of us..
