How do you deal with your fibromyalgia flareups?

I have been diagnosed with it years ago by two different rheumatologist. I learn to live with it, but sometimes the fatigue is consuming.

First off, there is a condition known as fibromyalgia. My mother suffers from it, I suffer from it, my sister suffers from it, and so does a friend. None of us are over-weight. Our BMI's are normal, so for anyone who doesn't think that it exists then he or she are obviously blind. You must not work in a hospital like I do and see the patients that suffer each day with pain that at times can be unbearable. However, yes regular exercise does help alot and so does a supportive family. My mother deals with hers by exercising and keeping up with our equine ranch. For those of you who don't know what that term is it means horses. So for those who have this painful condition, just one word of advice find a hobby that will allow you to pass time as easily as possible. Also so on bad days, a heating pads soothes a little. Source(s): A sufferer and supporter of those in need.
It's all a fraud. Lose some weight, get some exercise, and stop brooding over it. Don't seek out stupid support groups that foster dependence.

You're lazy and depressed and seeking attention.
That's "fibromyalgia." Another throw-away medical "diagnosis" to fit the needs of the needy. Tough love? Yeah. But snap out of it.
Fibromalgia is a disorder that causes muscle pain and body stiffness. You may also feel tired all the time.
Along with the tender points, you may have some or all of the following symptoms:
A burning or throbbing pain in many parts of the body (the pain may vary during the day). Stiffness or aching all over your body. Trouble sleeping. Constant tiredness, even after a full night's sleep. Headaches. Bowel problems.
Gentle exercise can help lessen your pain. Always stretch your muscles before and after you excercise. Choose low inpact sports, such as fast walking, biking, swimming or other water exercises. Don't push yourself to hard at first. Slowly build up your endurance over time. Stick to it. For best results, excerise should become part of your normal life.
No one knows what causes fibromyalgia. But certain things, such as stress, can trigger symptoms or make them worse.
Learn ways to reduce or manage stress in your life. Eating a balanced diet and watching your weight will help. See your doctor about ongoing sleep problems. Find an over the counter pain reliever to help relieve the pain. If this does not work talk to your doctor about prescribing medication to control pain. Be sure and take them only as directed.
I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, and RA plus DVT. (blood clot of the deep vein) I cannot take any meds for inflamation. I do take Tylenol Arthritis for pain and sometimes a pain med the doctor prescribed for me. My doctor also put me on Clymbalta for depression. The Clymbalta has a mild pain reliever in it. If you take any type of depression meds you will need to be slowly taken off the anit-depressiants don't just stop taking the meds. Tylenol with codeine is also a good pain reliever but it can make you sleepy. All my meds I take at night so I can rest better and use the Tylenol Arthritis during the day.
Fibromyalgia is not easy to deal with especially when you have the really bad flair-ups. Tak to your doctor about getting the proper medication. Also think about seeing a arthritis specialtest for this condition.
I wish you well have a great day...
