Which country? I have a friend here who is an author, speaker, etc and she suffers fibro (as do I). I'm in Australia.

Actually, Times-a-wastin, fibromyalgia IS a syndrome related to arthritis (hence the asker's mention of it being rhumatological), with specific criteria that must be met in order for a diagnosis to be made. It is not a "diagnosis of exclusion". Just because an exact cause has not yet been identified, does not mean it's a blanket term for "it hurts".

Well, I have fibromyalgia, but alas I am not famous. I also do not know of any celebrities with this disease or how to find them, unless there is some mention of them at a fibromyalgia site. I do hope you find some and thanks for the info. I did not know that May 12th was Awareness Day. In USA or Canada or where? Good luck and thanks for helping those of us with this disease.

Actually, the term fibromyalgia is used when there is no specific diagnosis to be given. You may want to go onto Oprah's website or Ellen's website. But it looks by the date you've given, your cutting it pretty short. Good luck!
