Do you know anyone with Fibromyalgia AND Asperger's Syndrome? |
Is there life pure hell? I have been diagnosed with FM, but I'm not sure about the Asperger's. I am going next week to the psychologist --- for the first time. I'm asking if these two thing are ever co-existent. Seems like that would be an aweful lot of "stimulation" for one person to bear. But I'm afraid I'm in that position! No reason why they cannot co-exist. I would look at the involvement of serotonin function in both as they are disordered to some extent in both in different ways. Laugh if you must but don't forget the mind body connection. Aspergers and FM are both things that you can change for the better via your own psychological state. Mediate, pray, serve others somehow but tune into somehting beyond a victim mentality which will only hold you back in recovery and healing. Be careful of scams and nuts and ideologues of every kind. For a balanced source of scientific info integrating conventional allopathic treatment and alternative look at the Life Extension Foundation's site and click on health concerns and look up by disease. Print out research citations and read them and discuss them with your doc and work as a team. Good luck! Source(s): decade of Family Practice and Pediatrics as PA I have AS but don't have Fibromyalgia. I haven't heard of it as one of the common co-morbidities that tend to accompany AS. |
