What is the fitness test for a fully qualified police offocer and what is the pass level?

What is the fitness test for a fully qualified police offocer and what is the pass level?

Expect to be tested on two key fitness requirements:

Dynamic strength - involves performing five seated chest pushes and five seated back pulls on the Dyno machine to measure your strength. This is very easy and the pass mark is quite low. I've never known anyone fail it.

Endurance - you will be asked to run to and fro along a 15 metre track in time with a series of bleeps, which become increasingly faster (bleep test). I think the pass mark for this particular test is around 5.5, which in my opinion is a bit of a joke. Its nothing more than a very steady jog. I can reach level 13 (which takes roughly 9 mins).

If you don't meet the standard first time around, you can take the test again up to a maximum of three times.

Back in the day the fitness test to become a cop was hell on wheels, and then came quotas and politically correct social promotions and appointments. This was done to allow lesser qualified individuals (some minorities and women) a chance to become cops even though they really didn't meet the basic standard. There was a time when every cop on the street was a fit and qualified member of the department, now you will see small woman and women with big butts wearing a police uniform because of lowered standards. Some people say you don't have to be big and strong to be a cop, but all that nonsense goes out the door when you're wrestling a 200 pound thug to the ground all by yourself. Oh, and you have to know how to spell; the term is "officer" not "offocer."

Depends on the force, some forces have the minimum, others have a slightly higher standard
On the bleep test (progressive run test) 5.4 is minimum in most places, followed by a benchpress or push/pull test of 50 kg.
And normally there is agrip test of 30kg.

these are well within the levels of a normal healthy person who gets regular exercise.

However most forces do not enforce a fitness level after you have got in, so most officers sadly decline greatly as they train for the test then never train again.

Bear is correct but its an absolute farce, my nan could pass it and it in NO WAY prepares you for duty. My advice is this, If you cant run to at least level 8 then you are prob not fit enough(unofficially of course)....

level 5:4 on the bleep test

and

push 34 kg and pull 35 kg this has to be done 5 times and they take an average

you have to be able to eat 20 donuts in a layby in 5 minites, and not spill your starbucks coffee in a high speed chase

What country are you in? I expect it would be different depending on the country.

The basics.

You have to be able to:

eat 10 doughnuts in one sitting,

throw an average sized suspect down a 'flight of stairs'

generally look as though you have been 'poured' into your uniform
