Do you think that under 16s should be banned from diet and fitness on yahoo answers?

Basically, I think it is very unhealthy to enourage teenagers to be concerned about their weight....the teenagers who do post on here are not overweight or seeking a healthy lifestyle, they are looking for 'pro-ana' buddies or confirmation of their own attractiveness or attention i.e I am 14, I weigh 110 pounds and I am 5ft 7: Is this overweight?

they should be banned from the entire Y! Answers...

No, I despise censorship. Though it is highly irritating reading the posts of insecure teenage girls asking if a 300 calorie per day diet is the ticket to fitness. By the same token, those are the ones that need help the most. Like any social gathering in life you filter out the 90% of information that is rhetoric and misinformation to find the good stuff you can use.

No, not at all. I think education, especially with diet in exercise in our world, is key to keeping a healthy generation alive.

Unfortunately, you see all the questions/bad answers about anorexia, bulimia, cleansing, and other things and kids form their own opinions without actually hearing the correct information.

Who's gonna know how old they are? If they need an answer, they will probably get more help from yahoo answers, coz no one actually knows them so all answers will vary, and give them a wider choice of options.

I think not, if they are old enough to get on yahoo answers, then they should be old enough to view anything on yahoo answers that they wish to.

I don't think anyone should be banned... Some kids need guidance from older adults, like the middle school students who want to have sex.... It's important that they have an anonymous forum where older people can talk them out of it.

Theres no harm in them asking questions, though i would question their ability to provide good answers

No, surely we should be encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle from a young age!

i dont think its really a good idea to ban them, but their constant "am i fat? i'm 90pounds" etc does try ones patience a little.

Why bother, if they really want to access it all they'd have to do is enter their birth date as if there were 18.

There's no point. Anyone can lie about their age.

yes they should have diet within reasonble weight

No, Why should they be?

Thanks for explaining, i think that it is good that they have some sort of place to discuss and ask any questions and when i answer any of these types of questions (i know the ones you mean) i always promote a healthy body image, and answer the questions with positive info, i am a healthy size 12 and am 5ft 5. I do not want to read about girls that weigh 6 stone and are 5ft 2 and ask am i fat?

No i dont, why ?
