I need to pass police fitness test?


I failed the 1.5mile horror hike around the police college by 52 seconds. I need to push my pace but cant seem to speed up. Im used to long distance. How can I do this?

Train short range sprints. Go on google and look up 'suicides' and 'green bays.' They're short range speed games that will help build strength and quickness. Long distance running is okay, but you need to balance yourself with sprints.

practice different sprint routines, you'll be okay.

Sprinting will help with that. Start off slowly and work your way up. Each time go a little faster and longer. Also, have some simple carbs 30 minutes before it (eg, fruit, O.J).

I'm sure you'll pass next time.
