Can anyone tell me of a healthy eating and fitness regime for loosing weight quickly?

Hi, I am not obese, but I have excess fat around my waist and could also do with toning up a bit around my legs and chest. I am also wanting to get fitter again.

Can anyone tell me of a fitness and eating regime that they followed and which yielded restuls quite quickly?

I have joined a gym, so I have access to the equipment and I also have an idea of what to eat,but any tips would be helpful?

Thanks

I train regularly and have helped a few of my friends lose weight as well. Remember the key to loosing weight is increasing your metabolism, and decreasing the amount of calories you intake daily.

As far as exercise goes, I'd recommend you train 4-5 days on an elliptical trainer. They are similar to treadmills but involve your whole body... legs... arms... shoulders.. chest...back.. everything. In my opinion it's the best piece of cardio equipment out there. Plus not to mention it's easier on your joints and feet because it's more of a gliding action. For length of time to be exercising, I'd say no less than 30 min and no more than 60 min. Usually you'll want to warm up first by stretching, then run an elliptical 20-40 minutes(depending on your level), and finish off with some sit ups and cooldown stretches. If you are wanting to lose fat around your waist remember that you can't spot reduce. The best way to lose that fat is by busting your *** on that elliptical, and by eating right.

Your diet is more important than your exercise. Spread your meals out by eating 6-7 small meals... every 2-3 hours. By doing this you increase your metabolism and balance yourself out. Most people don't know that. Drink a lot of water. That also helps flush out some bad stuff. Count your calories. This is important so you know how to adjust them in case you aren't losing weight. Always eat more than 1,200 calories a day. If you eat less than that then you can end up in the hospital. Maybe start out at 1,800 calories a day and if you aren't losing weight, then you need to bump it down to about 1,500 calories and increase your workout intensity. I recommend fish(tuna, salmon, haddock), chicken breast, greens(lettuce, peppers), fat free milk, and fruit to be your basic meals. Don't involve pastas or a bunch of bread because those carbs will just add more fat on your tummy. If you have to eat bread then make sure it is whole wheat.

I can go on and on about ways in which to help you. If you ever need help just email me. Also I recommend that if you ever need equipment, then to buy it from www.fitnessweightequipment.net I buy my equipment there so I don't have to work out at a gym any more. I wish you luck with your goals. Go out there and make it happen.

try wieght watchers it is brilliant AND it's the only one that is approved by doctors.
