Can you pass on the flu if you have been immunized?

As it is flu season, I have been immunized. Can I be infected with the flu, not know it because i have been immunized, and pass it on to someone who hasnt been immunized and give them the flu?

If you get FluMist you can actually give other people the flu for THREE WEEKS afterwards, from the vaccine itself!

And before you give me a thumbs down, read the FluMist product literature. The company that makes it admits this right there in the pamphlet they are supposed to give you when you receive it.

"Due to the possible transmission of vaccine virus, FluMist recipients should avoid being in close contact with immunocompromised individuals for three weeks following vaccination."

Just because you go the flu shot does not mean you are protected against all the strains. They only protect against the strains that can really hurt or kill you. Yes you can get the flu and pass it around even if you have gotten the flu shot. Some people never get the flu shot and are lucky and don't get the flu. Plus there are a ton of viruses out there that mimic the flu and the common cold. yes it is good that you got your shot, but don't expect it to work against everything. You still need to stay away from those that are sick.

You've been immunized against certain kinds of the flu virus, but there are many varieties (they are always changing). You could get a mild case of one of those other varieties and pass it on.

The dumbest thing you can do is to get a flu shot. I never get a flu shot and I never get the flu. And when I do get it it's a very mild case. Same with antibiotics a good way to destroy your immune system.
