I think I have the flu or bronchitis? Not sure.. Ur opinion? |
I have been feeling bad since Monday. I have been coughing really bad, running a high fever, runny, stuffy nose, sneezing, body aches, chest burns (I figure from coughing so much). Do you think I have the flu or bronchitis? And should I go to work? I've been coughing so hard I'm about to throw up and peeing my pants! Please don't laugh! Serious answers only! Bronchitis doesn't include sneezing or body aches. Typically there's a frequent, productive cough with discolored sputum, fatigue and often wheezing. Sometimes there's fever as well. Your symptoms sound typical of a viral respiratory infection. Stay home, you're not well enough to go to work and you may transmit this virus to others. If your temperature is under 102.0, it's not considered a high fever. My guess is that you have the flu so treat it accordingly. If you are running a fever DO NOT go to work- you'll just get everyone else sick! It sounds like the flu- I just got over it- I think the body aches are a sure sign of the flu. However after my fever quit- I still have a lingering cough. Just one of those annoying coughs- that tickle the back of your throat. Rest, rest, rest, and more rest- is the only way to get better. And don't go to work until you are fever free- without medication- for 24 hours! sounds like maybe flu or just a really bad bug......robitussin,sleep,maybe try thera flu,get some extra vitamin c,tyl. for fever As I am just getting over both(!), I would say call into work and go to the doc. If you are running a fever higher than 102 or you have a fever that isn't helped by taking Tylenol, then a call to your doctor is warranted. Have you tried some robitussin for the cough? Something with DXM works best. Drink lots of water and get some rest. Bronchitis is usualy characterized by fluid build up in the lungs. I think you'd be hacking up some pretty narly looking phlegm. I know I was when I had bronchitis. I would say you have the flue and bed rest is really the only way to get better. There is a good chance that you have bronchitis, or maybe even pnemonia. I had pnemonia recently and though it was nothing more than a cold. This is serious stuff, go to your doctor immediately and get some antibiotics, there is also some cough syrup they can give you to help with the cough. |

To catch the flu you have to be immune compromised, so there is no reason that you can't catch a cold at the same ... To make the fever go down, Try a cold bath. (Not too cold, but barable. ) Take some vitamins Get rest Maybe some Nyquil. But really, I dont think anything could make it go away very quickly...
