HELP ! flu question . . . .?

ok so, first my nephew and neice had the flu, while i was gone away, then it spread to my brother (dad of nephew/niece) still while im away. then , yesterday i came home to my dads, and this morning he ends up with the flu ( vomiting, tired etc) and now his girlfriend has it ( who spent the weekend with him) now i hugged him like once last night , before i knew he had the flu, so when i got home from school i put a cloth over my face (lol) and went right to work and now im staying at my moms place while shes away, except for last night i didnt really come in contact with him , now im taking cold fx to try to fight against it so i do not get it. . . . . . . . what are my chances of getting it ? ( btw i REALLY dont want to get it, vomiting is like a phobia to me , i hate it ahaha)

also , i did not get the flu shot . . . also another question i have wit this , do differently people react differently to the same flu , is there a way that my dad vomited with his but if i got it , i could have it without vomiting

Depends on what all you touched in the house while you were there. Or anywhere else for that matter.

Many people with the flu DID have the vaccinations but this is a different strain than they were vaccinated for so the shots may or may not prevent some strain of the flu. It does appear to be a tiny bit less severe in those who had the shots but not by much.

The most common way to catch the flu is directly from another person. Whenever we cough or sneeze, we send out invisible droplets from the nose and mouth, which travel through the air. If those flu-infected droplets are inhaled by another person, that person can catch the flu.

Another way to catch the flu is when you touch something that an infected person has sneezed or coughed on and then touch your nose.

The flu virus can be in our systems before symptoms appear. For this reason, a person can spread the infection to others without appearing sick. Once infected, a person can remain contagious for about a week.

Anyone can get the flu. And the best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated each year.

There is a chance, most people are most contagious about a day before they show symptoms and up to 2-3 days into the disease (or until their fever goes away if they have one). Good hand-washing is the best way to avoid spread. It will take between 5 and 7 days from exposure before you start to experience symptoms yourself. Until then all I can say is good luck! I managed to get a different flu (that half the nurses I work with also have) and my doctor said I'd feel like crap for 7-14 days, no vomiting though, yay. BTW the flu shot didn't cover the strain that I got, lucky me.

There is a chance that you if you contracted the same virus you wouldn't get as sick (ie maybe nauseated, but no vomiting), but it's not like he catches it a vomits, you catch and only get a cough. The virus has a similar effect on everyone, that is the way the virus DNA is formed.
