Contagious Flu? |
Okay, my roommate had the flu last week. I took care of her and made sure she drank liquids like a good girl. She feels much better now. But I was wondering: Her first fever day was Thursday (Valentines Day), she stayed on the couch until Sunday when her fever broke, she was weak all monday and yesterday but no fever and starting to move around alot more, now today she's up and about, fine as ever (still coughing though)....I was wondering how long she's contagious because she kinda coughed in my face by accident earlier today. i had that exact same flu. she probably isnt contagious anymore but its hard to know for sure because pretty much everyone is sick. i was sick with the fever two weeks ago and still have the cough. everyone i kno that had it has had the cough for about a month. but if she is still contagious its prob really low. i wouldnt worry much. The most common way to get the flu from someone else is by touching something that came in contact with her "mucus" ... she blew her nose and then touched you without washing her hands or you picked up contaminated Kleenex. Coughing is slightly contagious but not as much as nasal secretions ... If she was careful to wash her hands (and you too) than you should be fine. |
