Flu virus not contagious when fever is gone?

i have the flu... so does my husband.. we have had it for like 5 days now. my husbands fevers and achiness are finally gone... mine arnt but i got an antiviral from the doc the nurse hotline said that the flu is no longer contagious when the fever is gone. Is this true?

Studies show that most healthy adults may be able to infect others from 1 day prior to becoming sick and for 5 days after they first develop symptoms. Some young children and people with weakened immune systems may be contagious for longer than a week.

If you are symptomatic, you are contagious.

The lingering cough isn't contagious because it's caused by the secondary infection as a result of the flu.

people are still are carrier for up to a week, every one should
wash there hands frequently and cover there nose when sneezing . Good luck.
